About Made
Made is a digital agency with a particular focus on organisations that bring people together—performing arts, museums, cultural institutions. We’ve been at it since 2010, and we’re a team of about 45 people working from England, Scotland, Poland, and the United States.
What we do
We design and build websites for arts and cultural organisations—the kinds of places that sell tickets, build audiences, and create experiences. We’re among the most experienced Tessitura web integrators in the world, with clients including the LA Phil, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Royal Albert Hall, and Melbourne Theatre Company.
Our principles
- Assume good intentions. That pointed question from a colleague? They genuinely want the answer. Start from trust.
- Share the spotlight. Great work happens when everyone contributes. Share ideas while they’re still messy.
- Plan beats no plan. Uncertainty creates confusion. A rough outline shared beats a perfect plan in someone’s head.
- Tag, you’re it. Someone’s always flying this plane—make sure you know if it’s you. Most mix-ups happen when ownership isn’t clear.
- The show must go on. Opening night arrives regardless. There’s always a path forward, even if it’s different from what we first imagined.
- Good enough isn’t. When time is tight, the answer isn’t to lower standards—it’s to focus ruthlessly. Do less, but do it brilliantly.
- Check small things. Excellence lives in details that seem invisible until they’re not quite right. That spacing. That transition. That punctuation.
- If everyone can’t get in, we’ve failed. Every pixel is either a door or a wall. We build doors.
- Share what you know. That clever solution is worthless in your head. Knowledge shared doubles; knowledge hoarded goes stale.
- Stay curious. Technology evolves, audiences change. Read something uncomfortable, try tools that scare you, ask the questions that feel stupid.
Access and inclusion
We build websites that work for everyone. That means testing with real people who use assistive technologies daily, not simulating it ourselves.
It also means building a team that reflects the world we’re designing for. We review our hiring practices regularly, pay all interns, and support flexible working for parents and carers. We’re signatories to the Tech Talent Charter and report on our progress annually.
